Valentina Canseco

The Franco-Brazilian-Chilean artist Valentina Canseco develops her artistic journey between figuration and abstraction, driven by a quest for spirituality and a certain tension between material, light, and color.

In her series "Matrices", Valentina Canseco conceives her paintings as windows opened onto alternate spatial trajectories. Her compositions, animated by radiant bursts of color, captivate and mesmerize the viewer. Behind these structures, neon lines emit a light that reveals the underlying framework: the matrix becomes a passage between the visible and the invisible, a bridge between matter and spirit.

“I draw the matrix with light, behind the door, its skeleton, what remains of it, its soul,” she explains.

The contrasts are emphasized through the use of fluorescent colors, counterpointing black and white, in response to the starkness of the pictorial forms.

Currently in artistic residency at the POUSH art incubator in Aubervilliers, her artistic journey has led her to exhibit in institutions and private exhibitions internationally.
